Abege salvages a point for Maroons FC in Bell Super League

Maroons FC top marksman George Abege scored his ninth goal of the season as he salvaged a point for his side against Jinja based Victors FC in there 1-all draw at Prisons ground this afternoon in the Bell Super League.

The visitors took a shocking lead with Edward Kakembo pouncing on a loose ball in the area in the 44th minute as Maroons shaky backline failed to clear its line in this pulsating Bell Super League encounter between these two mid-table sides.

The two sides had a equal share of claiming the three priceless points in this in swinging game. First it was the visitors who looked more hungrier than there hosts and had them on the back foot for most of the first half, but there wasteful players lucked the cutting edge in the final quarter.

The visitors would later regret for squandering there first half openings and 80 minutes into the second half Maroons top scorer George Abege curled in a clever free kick that caught Victor’s custodian Luke Ojok off guard.

The home side had several opportunities in the second half wasted by there midfielders and strikers. Maroons now lies seventh with 26 points out of 21 games while Victors is eighth with 27 points out of 20 games.
