
Police football club are ready to challenge the “Big Teams” in the Bell Lager Super League according to their head coach Angelo Lonyesi.
“The team is doing well and ready to challenge the Big guns in the league this season,” Lonyesi said after his side drew with Utoda FC on Tuesday. “This team is good to challenge for the league title and I think we have the right mentality to win it.”
Police lies third position with eight points out of six games and has one win and five draws. “Last season we lost four players and this time around we have recruited several new players who are yet to gel in the team,” Lonyesi added. “We are unbeaten in six games, but we can remain up their and give top teams a run for their money.”
Police last won the league in 2005 the following year they want on to win the Cecafa club championship under coach Sam Timbe, who is now coaching Yanga Africans in the Tanzanian league.
