KCC football club has reacted to media reports that their coach Matia Lule, has been sacked and Express’s coach Sam Ssimbwa is poised to take over in January.
“It’s surprising to read the stories in the media about what is happening at KCC,” Aldrine Nsubuga’s the club’s spokesman said. “Matia Lule is serving a two months suspension and has not been sacked like the media has been reporting.”
Lule, was suspended after KCC’s 4-0 win over Fire Masters last week pending investigations of his conduct and general performance. He will be receiving half pay from the club during the suspension. The club meanwhile has handed coaching duties for the time being to former player Morley Byekwaso.
“It amuses me how the media has been linking all coaches to KCC starting with Jackson Mayanja, George Nsimbe,Sam Ssimbwa and even Mike Mutebi maybe they are the ones who appoint and sack managers at KCC,” a surprised Nsubuga said. “I wonder why they don’t speak to the club instead of writing hearsay.”
KCC lies tenth in the Bell Lager Uganda Super League and will today travel to take on Masaka LC in a tricky tie.
