
Special Olympics Uganda soccer team leaves today for a Africa Unifiying Regional Soccer tournament that starts tomorrow to October 6 in South Africa.
The team made up of ten players with six athletes who have intellectual disabilities and four partners.
The Africa Unifying tournament has attracted Uganda,Kenya,Zambia,Nigeria,Senegal,Cote D’Ivoire,South Africa,Namibia,Botswana and Mauritius
The Uganda contingent was seen off by National Council of Sports Chairman Bosco Onyik at Lugogo stadium yesterday the team is made up of Head of Delegation Robert Atum, Head Coach Bosco Onama,Stephen Onyait others on the team are Joseph Ssenkubuge,Tom Tamukedde,Charles Okello,Isma Kiddawalime,Mohammed Kaye,Lawrence Bukenya,Andrew Victor Matovu,Geoffrey Muganga,Hudson Balayeki and Titus Katamba.
After the tournament the top three teams will represent Africa in Brazil,for the 2013 Special Olympics-FIFA unity cup.
The tournament will be screened live on SuperSport 3 and 5 at the Royal Bafokeng National Stadium in South Africa.
