Uganda squash players will join the world tomorrow as countries all over the globe that play the game bid for the sport to be included at the 2020 Olympics.
Uganda Squash Rackets Association under its chairman John Bosco Tamwesigire, together with all squash players in the country will have a tournament at Kampala club in the morning in a global theme that is dubbed “2020 Back the Bid”. The International Olympic Committee is yet to include squash as one of the Olympic sports. It is one of several sports that are bidding to be included as an Olympic sport.
“This is a theme that is global and we shall be playing a number of games tomorrow it’s part of a campaign to have squash at the 2020 games,” national top seed Michael Kawooya said.
The cities of Istanbul,Madrid and Tokyo are all bidding to host the 2020 Olympics. The International Olympic Committee will decide soon which city will host the games.
