Birthday boy Charles Dickens Langoya, was all smiles as he claimed the Crown Beverages Independence day golf tournament that was held at the par 72 Kitante golf course yesterday.
Langoya returned a perfect score of 70 nett to claim the men’s overall crown as he beat a field of 210 golfers.
Incidently he was celebrating his 50th birthday as Uganda celebrated Golden Jubilee of Independence.
Getrude Acato claimed the women’s crown with 69 nett.
National golfer Willy Kitata kept his good form by claiming group A with 71 nett on count back to increase his trophy haul that has been bulging throughout the year.
Group B was won by Rajiv Patel with 71 nett. Paul Byoma was group C winner with 71 nett.
John Basabose and Eva Magala where the men’s and ladies gross winners with scores of 74 and 79 respectively.
Deo Akope was the men’s pro winner with a score of 140 gross.
