Uganda’s ambassadors in the ongoing 24th Edition in the East and Central Handball championships Prisons and Nkumba University returned contrasting results on the opening day of the week long tournament held at Nyayo Indoor Stadium, Nairobi. 

Prisons overcame a hard fighting Nairobi Youth Handball Club from Kenya with a 42-28 victory in a game where Ojok Gilbert top scored with a game high 19 points.

“The boys played their hearts out, and the team work effort yielded us this win”, remarked team captain Isamat Antony shortly after the game. Uganda’s other representatives, Nkumba University had a fault start was they lost to Democratic Republic of Congo’s Heritage Club.
