Cubs1-3 Mulago (Cubs lead series 2-1)

Few expected KAVC to falter in their game three against Mulago when they went down 3-1(25-20, 20-25, 25-27, 22-25) in the best of five national volleyball playoff final in the Serie B category.

Cubs went through a tight set one, which was a neck to neck from minute one. They were carried shoulder high by setter Kennedy Rutto and attackers Imalingat John and Samuel Arionga whenever he joined them on the net.

Mulago’s Peter Mulinde stepped up his game in the next three sets as they forced Cubs into unforced errors. “Our net defense was bad and the players had under looked their opponents, and they got what they deserve,” said Cubs coach Nicholas Ockechu. “When you don’t lose you don’t learn so, am sure they have learnt a thing or two,” he added.

His counterpart Michael Kashuku was more composed like his team on court. “We didn’t do anything much, just improved in our training and the performance speaks for its self,” said Kashuku.

Cubs will have to up their game in game four if they are to gain promotion to the Serie A as Serie B champions.
