Top seed and two time winner Michael Kawooya is poised to meet his hot rival and club-mate Ian Rukunya Kajubu this Saturday at the Castle Lite Squash Open at Kampala Club.
Kawooya who is yet to lose a set in the week long tournament over run former club mate Paul Nkambwe beating him 11-4,11-2,11-3 to advance to this evenings quarter-finals. Seed four Paul Kadoma was in blistering mood beating Musa Matovu 3-0, 11 – 3 ,11 – 4,11 – 2. In was the same rhythm for seed two Brian Okumu beating seed seven Sam Kyagulanyi 4-11,11-9,11-5,5-11 and 11-5.
Nile Breweries under their popular brand Castle Lite have sunk 16 million into the event that has attracted over 80 players for the tournament. The tournament has main draw and a 35-39 category together with a 50 plus for men.
The winner will walk away with a cash prize and trophy.
