Celebrated FIFA referees, Ali Kalyango, Dennis and Assistant, Mark Ssonko will be part of 16 match officials to mann this year’s Tusker CECAFA Senior Challenge cup due to kick off in Kampala on November 24.
CECAFA General Secretary, Nicolas Musonye released the official list of 16, half of whom are Assistants. He advised the officials to keep fit before the mandatory fitness tests that will be conducted by retired FIFA Referee, Charles Masembe, who is also a CAF Referees official, among other officials.
“I urge the officials to prepare adequately for the medical and fitness test on November 23 to avoid embarrassment if they fail to impress before the instructors”, Musonye said.
The region’s oldest football tournament kicks off on November 24 with FIFA’s newest member, South Sudan facing Ethiopia at 3 p.m before Defending champions, Uganda engages fierce rivals Kenya later at 6 p.m, at Namboole National Stadium.
