Round two of the Safari Tour leg at Karen golf country club was held on Monday, February 5, 2024.

Uganda’s professional golfer Ronald Rugumayo scored 9-under 63 to take over the leaderboard after the opening 3-under 68 on day one.

After the opening two rounds, Rugumayo has now extended the lead to -13 (131 gross).

Rugumayo’s extra-ordinary round witnessed him scored 9 birdies and pars apiece with no bogie.

His birdies came on holes 3, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17 and 18. The pars were on 3, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17 and 18.

Dismas Indiza

Legendary Kenya professional Dismas Indiza played 6-under 66 and he is second behind Rugumayo, three shots behind.

Day one leader Mutahi Kibugu (136) is third with Greg Snow (142) in the fourth place.

Mediratta Mohit (143) is fifth on the leaderboard.

The duo of Jacob Okello and Mike Kisia are tied in 6th place with 144 gross apiece.

Johnny Limb (Kenya), Zimbabwean Visitor Mapwanya, Daniel Nduva (Kenya), Gabriel Chibale (Zambia) and Samuel Njoroge (Kenya) are jointly tied in 8th position with 145 gross each.

With 146 gross, three golfers Riz Charania (Kenya), Celestine Nsanzuwera (Rwanda) and Edwin Mudanyi (Kenya) are all in the 13th place.

Kenya’s Tony Omuli (147) and Nigerian Sunday Olapade (148) are 16th and 17th respectively after the first two rounds.

Ainamani opened with 1-under 71 and played 8-over 79 to make the cut.

The third round will swing off on Tuesday, 6th February 2024 as the golfers eye 54 holes of competition.

The leg at Karen will climax on Wednesday, 7th February 2024.
