BUL Football Club players celebrate a goal against Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba

Table leaders BUL seek to earn their first ever league double over Soltilo Bright Stars when the two sides clash at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Wednesday.

Abbey Kikomeko’s side are winless in the last three league outings and failure to beat the Stars could see them lose top spot after this round of matches.

At the moment, they lead by two points on 34 and face a team with confidence after earning a hard fought late win over local area rivals Wakiso Giants on Sunday.

Kikomeko understands how tough games against Bright Stars are but remains optimistic of a win after snatching a 1-0 victory in the first round at Kavumba earlier in the season.

“We come into this game knowing that Bright Stars has given us hard times in the previous campaigns. We drew 2-2 the last time we played home against them but we beat them 1-0 at the start of this season,” he said.

“We now meet knowing they are coming to challenge us given that they even won their last game. However, since we are at home and on top of the table, we cannot afford to lose the opportunity of the three points.”

The hosts are without injured Douglas Muganga, Pascal Ngobi and Martin Aprem while Lawrence Tezikya is suspended.

Bright Stars, sitting 9th on the log with 21 points will hope leading goal scorer Nelson Ssenkatuka continues his scoring spree.
