MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo is the place to be on Thursday evening when NEC hosts landlords KCCA in the only league game on the day.
The Bugolobi based army side beat the Kasasiro 2-0 in the reverse fixture with Cromwell Abang scoring twice in the first half and KCCA will have revenge mission at heart.
Both teams didn’t win their previous league outings with NEC drawing 2-2 away at UPDF while KCCA lost 1-0 to Kitara.
Hussein Mbalangu knows the opponents will be desperate to turn tables and avoid losing home and away but his side is ready to go for all three points.
“It will be a tough game as they will want to avenge the first round defeat but we are ready to counter them,” said Mbalangu whose side sits 4th on the table with 31 points.
“We have prepared well and we shall play our way so all fans should come and enjoy a good game.”
The hosts have Abang, Rashid Okocha and Sulaiman Ssesaazi back in the squad after missing the Uganda Cup through illness.
Abdallah Mubiru has urged his boys to put the disappointment of last week’s defeat behind their backs.
“The loss to Kitara is now a gone chapter and focus on getting three points against NEC,” he started. “The league is a marathon, you win some, you lose some and that’s football but we must stay focused,” he added.
Mustafa Mujjuzi is out with a groin injury but the rest of the members of KCCA squad are available for selection.
Hot Stat: NEC has won six games at Lugogo with KCCA only managing 4 wins so far this season in the league.
