Team News
Dan Apuyo is likely to return after missing the draw with KU through injury but Ayieko revealed how he will miss his instrumental player Joachim Golooba who’s serving a match suspension. The young lad Golooba has played an integral role in his side’s rise to the third place in the league standings this season. With two goals and seven assists in 4 appearances, the 22-year-old has been striking terror in the hearts of the defenders.
KIU don’t have any injury worries and cautioned players with in their squad but they will be welcoming back their tallies man Ismail Kagingo who’s been out of action for long spells nursing injuries.
Match Notes
Charles Ayieko steps into the tie looking to guide his team back to winning ways after a 2-2 draw to East African Champions Kampala University in their last league fixture.
Fresh from beating MUST in the weekend 2-1; Kampala International University will now look to surmount an even bigger obstacle from the other side of Nakawa who are in terrific form having won 3 out of the 4 fixtures so far played.
Charles Ayieko’s side is currently 2nd on the League Log 4 points a head of their opponents KIU who are still struggling to find rhythm with in the League.
KIU have only performed averagely at home, winning once and losing also once of their last four. A total of 7 goals have been scored by the Green Warriors in those games, with 5 conceded.
MUBS have an average recent record on the road, picking up two good wins against MUST and Makerere University. MUBS have scored 7 goals in these games and conceded only once but the KIU assistant coach Bruno Kiyimba is aware of the lethal asset MUBS is and he says playing as a unit will be key for the down fall of MUBS at their grounds in Nsambya as he has no injury worries in his side.
