Uganda national tennis team arrived in Ghana’s capital city of Accra on Wednesday, 13th March 2024.
The team has four players; Simon Ayela, Frank Tayebwa, Trevor Kazibwe and Said Mawa.
Mawa is also a professional golfer who doubles in Tennis. Edward Odocken is their head coach.


The team touched base at Kotoka International Airport in the morning hours.
They were officially recieved by the protocol team before they were driven to the games village at the University of Ghana.
The championship will officially serve off on Friday, 15th March 2024 at the TC Tennis complex with the singles women event.
On the following day, the men singles’ competition will begin.
Uganda has fielded athletes in Judo, wrestling, football, cricket, rugby, table tennis, badminton, swimming, handball, boxing, tennis, athletics and chess.
There are demonstrations in pickleball, scrabble and mixed martial arts.
At the on-going 13th African games, Uganda has so far won gold in badminton (doubles women), silver (weightlifting and badminton) as well as bronze (swimming, weightlifting and badminton).
The swimming bronze was won by Anna Gloria Muzito in the 100m freestyle (ladies).
