Mustafa Kizza came off the bench and scored a penalty in the last minute of additional time as KCCA earned their first win over Vipers at Kitende.
In game the Kasasiro controlled possession, Kizza scored in the third minute of stoppage time after referee Ali Sabila called hand ball on Siraje Sentamu.
Abdallah Mubiru’s men dominated the first half but failed to create meaningful opportunities with Brazilian Joao Gabriel slow to create in some team moves.
But it was Allan Okello who nearly scored against his former bosses with an improvised volley forcing goalie Anthony Emojong to pull off a brilliant save.
KCCA withdrew Gui and Joao for the more enterprising Said Mayanja and new signing Peter Lwasa in order to increase urgency.
Livingston Mbabazi, returning to the Venoms bench also gave opportunity to Moses Waiswa, Martin Kizza and Bright Anukani against their former team in search for a winner.
But with the game appearing to be destined for stalemate, KCCA lobbied Ssentamu of possession in their own half, raced into the area and a goal bound shot by Mugume was stopped.
Kizza stepped up to send young goalie Jack Komakech the wrong way and won it for the Kasasiro who completed a double over the hosts for the first time in more than a decade.
Defeat leaves Vipers title chances in balance as they now drop to 5th on the log with 35 points, eight points adrift of table leaders Kitara but the venoms have two games in hand over the Royals.
KCCA climb to 8th position with 29 points after 20 games and next in line is a home game against Busoga United on March 29 and Vipers visit URA the following day.
