Ghana Football Association announced that they have cancelled their friendly game with Kenya’s Harambee Stars and other warm up games that were meant to prepare the team for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho as they will only concentrate on training sessions.

The Black Stars had previously arranged a friendly against Kenya but they decided not to play the game due to the late arrival of foreign based players.

They also fear of the players’ injury before the World Cup qualifiers after Sudan decided to bring the match forward by two days to 7th June.

“We will not play any friendly match before we play our World Cup qualifiers in June,” Ghana FA’s Director of Communications Ibrahim Sannie was quoted as saying on Ghanasoccernet.

Ghana remained second in Group D with six points, just one point behind leaders Zambia, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Lesotho.

They will play their upcoming games away from home against Sudan and Lesotho in June before hosting Zambia in the final group game in September.
