St Mary’s Kitende registered a well-deserved 13-0 victory against Britannica High School in the ongoing USSSA Zonal Games at Kings Way High playground on Tuesday.
After failing to go past the group stages in the recently concluded Buganda Cup, Kitende staged a thrilling show to set the deserving pace ahead of a long tournament.
Abubakari Walusimbi gave St Mary’s Kitende the lead with a first touch that swiftly went past goalkeeper Solomon Lule in the first minute.
Five minutes later, Santos Agok doubled Kitende’s lead with a simple touch off Samuel Mubiru’s delivery.
Agok completed a personal brace with yet another simple touch in front of goal as Britannica’s backline looked on.
Left back Haruna Kisakye got his name on the scoresheet after converting from the 12-yard mark five minutes to end the first stanza.
Two minutes into the second stanza, Denis Kisiriko converted from the spot after Vivent Ayebale was fouled in the dangerous area.
Agok’s hat-trick was sealed in the 50th minute with a thrilling touch after meeting with Steven Yiga’s ground delivery.
A minute later, Yiga joined the party with a curling shot as Britannica High looked so frustrated on the day.
Defender Reagan Isabirye made it eight with a rebound into the top corner before lanky forward Manyiel added a brace.
With nine minutes to play, Walusimbi pulled off yet another stunner before Jamal Ssemwogerere made it 12.
Second-half substitute Arafat Nkoola froze in the air to node home Kisakye’s darling delivery.
