Joshua Ekirikubinza, beat his young sibling Elisha in the men’s 50 meter breastroke at the first national swimming trials recently at Kampala International School of Uganda.

Joshua clocked a time of 00.33.01 to win the men’s 50 meter breastroke and beat his younger brother Elisha, who finished second in a time of 00.33.20 while Conrad Gaira, was third with a time of 00.33.26 in a very fast heat.

The Uganda Swimming Federation was using the event to check on times for national swimmers ahead of the 15th World Swimming Championships(25m) in Barcelona, Spain from July 19-Aug 4th.

In other races Arnold Kisulo, who was making a comeback to the swimming pool in the 400 meter freestyle returned with a mark of 05.01.08 while Jethro Ssengonzi, in the 200 meter Individual Medley with a time of 02.32.85.

In the women’s 50 meter backstroke Maya H clocked a time of 00.41 while Charlotte Athieno in a time of 00.51.09 while Kathleen Noble clocked a time of 00.36.13.
