Egyptian, Hany ‘Hurricane’ Atiyo arrived in Kampala, Thursday for the World Boxing Council (WBC) International Light Heavyweight contest to be staged at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds this Friday.

“For the past 14 months, i haven’t taken my foot off the gas,”Atiyo said. “A rematch with Vegas has been on my mind for so long.I want to get revenge and am here to give Ugandans a good fight.”

This particular fight was due to have been held on June 1, but was postponed since Houichi Houicine, WBC supervisor for contest had been engaged elsewhere.

28 year old Atiyo earlier lost to Lubega in September, last year, losing the Africa Boxing Union title. He has won twice since bringing his total career wins to 15 out of 16 fights.

Meanwhile, Sande ‘Swico’ Kizito will battle Mohammed Ates of Egypt for a non-title fight on the same card in Kampala this Friday.
