US based lightweight Sharif “The Lion” Bogere is likely expected back return into the ring in the month of September after a three month lay-off since his last fight against WBA lightweight champion Richard Abril.
“I have started light training and hopefully will continue this way,” Bogere said. “I am most likely to return in September however I would not know which opponent I will be facing.”
The Las Vegas based fighter last appeared in the ring in March this year when he fought against WBA lightweight champion Richard Abril, losing his first professional fight.
“I have been treating my niggling tendon injury which has been recurring for a while and hopefully it will totally heal with the help of ALLAH,” Bogere said. “I am looking forward too stepping back into the ring and regaining my status in my division.”
Bogere is 23-1, 15 KOs. He fights under Golden Boy Promotions which is owned by boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya.
