Semifinal
- Olila High School 53/1 beat Sacred Heart SS 52/7 by 9 wickets
- Light SS 60/9 beat Jinja SS 59/5 by 1 wicket
Light SS denied Olila High School a third consecutive Schools Cricket Week title in a low-scoring thriller in Soroti.
The two sides divided town loyalties with the balanced Olila High School the favourites. They both came through their semifinals, Light SS more bruised than Olila High School after Jinja SS ran them very close but managed to win by 1 wicket.
Light SS had one thing going them the whole season which was their bowling. Their slow bowling options got them to the final and they would back themselves to defend any total.
Olila High School won the toss and stuck them in, they were gifted 29 extras and that greatly helped them get to 76/9 in their 20 overs.
In the run chase, only Lorna Anyait (38) took the game to Light SS as the slow bowlers dried up the runs and in the end, the difference in extras hurt Olila High School. Light SS gave away just five extras compared to the 29 that were gifted to them.
Light SS ended the Olila High School four-year reign as champions for the Girls’ Schools Cricket.
Lorna Anyait won the Player of the Series award for her all-round performance, Mbwali Naume from Masaka SS won the best batter award, Jimia Muhammad from Olila High School won the best wicketkeeper award, Christine Aguti from Light SS won the best fielder award and Achan Zita from St Mary’s Madera won the best bowler award.

A squad of 25 was selected after the tournament to be part of the U-19 girls’ training camp in preparation for the U-19 Girls Qualifiers in Kigali in August.
