The 2024 Captain's bell tournament drew a massive over 230 golfers with the new Uganda Golf Club captain Charles Rukundo officially taking charge from Emmanuel Wamala.

- Gross ladies: Peace Kabasweka – 76, 74, 74 (224)
- Gross men: Joseph Cwinya-ai – 75, 70, 74 (219)
- Professionals: Ronald Rugumayo – 72, 67, 70 (209)
- Overall men: Perez Muhwezi – 41 points
- Overall ladies: Rose Azuba – 37 points (countback)
Peace Kabasweka won the female gross category of the 2024 Captain’s Bell golf tournament at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club course in Kampala.
Over three rounds in 54 holes’ action, Kabasweka scored a total gross score of 224.
The reigning Uganda Amateur Open female champion played 4-over 76 on day one.
She bettered with 2-over 74 during the second and third rounds to beat the crop of other female gross players.
“I am happy for the victory,” the soft-spoken golfer revealed in an interview with the media.
“I salute the rest of my fellow players for the brave fight. I wish to maintain the form coming to this year’s Uganda Open” she added.
Gloria Mbaguta (241), Harriet Kitaka (243), Judith Komugisha (249) and Evarylne Assimwe (261) completed the top five positions.
Kabasweka was also second runners-up in Group A of the subsidiary group behind Ann Abeja and Gloria Mbaguta.
Meanwhile, Joseph Cwinya-ai scored 219 in 54 holes action to win the male cluster, a shot better than second-placed Ibrahim Bagalana.

The overall gongs were claimed by Perez Muhwezi and Rose Azuba with 41 and 37 stableford points respectively.

Absa Bank funded the tournament with Ugx 152,000,000.
