Richmond Kickers 1-0 Dayton Dutch Lions
Henry Kalungi’s Richmond Kickers advanced to the USL PRO Semifinals, edging the Dayton Dutch Lions 1-0 Saturday night at City Stadium. Joseph Ngwenya gave the home side the advantage with a second half goal and goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra posted three saves to preserve the shutout to keep the Kickers undefeated at City Stadium this season.
The win completed a treble of wins for Richmond kickers against Dayton this season after the side beat the Lions home and away in the regular season.
Kickers joined Mike Azira’s Charleston Battery, Charlton Eagles and Orlando City as the four semi-finalists.
Cranes centre back Henry Kalungi was part of the imperious backline that kept a clean sheet.
The Kickers return to City Stadium next Saturday, August 31 to host the Charlotte Eagles in the USL PRO Semifinals.
