Top squash player Michael Kawooya is leading a team of three for the Prince Grand Prix Squash tournament that gets underway tomorrow and ends on September 2 at the Parkview Squash Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The team is made up of Kawooya, the national seed two Ian Kajubu Rukunya and seed four Paul Kadoma. “Our trip has been made possible by the Uganda Squash Rackets Association, well wishers, members of Kampala Club and sponsors of the game of squash,” Kawooya said in a message. “We are very grateful to them and we shall give a good account in this tournament. It will in the long run help us develop our games all round and give us the necessary experience.”

The South Africa tournament attracts players from all over the world and it will be the second time that Kawooya, will be featuring in this tournament while Rukunya and Kadoma, will be making their debuts at this international tournament.

Uganda Squash Rackets Association is using the tournament to expose the Ugandan team ahead of next year’s Commonwealth Games, in Glasgow, Scotland.

Parkview Squash Center is managed by Graig Vander Wath,who is a 2012 Men’s World Squash Championship holder. The tournament that attracts players from Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Swaziland, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
