Weekend Results: 21/07/2024
- ACC v Ismaili – Entebbe Oval
- Jinja SS v Nile – Jinja Oval
- Avengers v Premier – Serenity Oval
ACC was on the wrong end of the result against JACC in their first game of the UGT20 League. They will take on an Ismaili side that is also searching for its first points of the season after losing to Rounders in their season opener.
Ismaili will be missing the services of their Captain the Cricket Cranes all rounder Riazat Ali Shah while ACC will be hoping that their inexperience isn’t a big factor in the game.
Last weekend, the lakeside oval was a difficult surface to bat on and you hope that this weekend it will be easier for teams to score runs.
Meanwhile, Nile CC will be making a return to league cricket and their first assignment is a visit to Jinja where they will take on home side Jinja SS.
The schoolboys of Jinja SS will believe that is an opportunity for them to put some points on the board as they were put to the sword last weekend by Kutchi Tigers.
Nile missed the 50-Over season and a return to league cricket for one of the oldest clubs is a great sight for cricket lovers.
In the other weekend fixture, Avengers and Premier will make a short trip to Kamengo as they face off in Group D action.
Premier was left bruised after some marginal losses to Nyakasura but they should be proud of their performances. Avengers are searching for a knockout place and for them, getting maximum points out of this game should keep them in touch with table leaders Nyakasura.
This is Matchday 4 of the Men’s UGT20 League which has 20 teams divided into 4 groups. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarterfinals.
