Houston Dynamo 2-1 New York Red Bull

Ex-Uganda Cranes skipper Ibrahim Ssekagya will have to wait for another season to lift the Major League Soccer title after his New York Red bull outfit were ousted by Houston Dynamos in the semi-finals of the MLS play offs.

New York Red Bull lost 2-1 to Houston in the second leg of the Eastern Conference semis to advance on a 4-2 aggregate following a two all draw in the first leg.

Omar Cummings and Brad Davis scored for Houston while Bradley Wright-Phillips netted for Red Bull.

Ssekagya was at fault for Brad Davis’ equaliser after the defender’s errant pass fell to Davis who hit the back of the net for Houston’s equaliser after Phillips had given Red Bull the lead.

However, Coach Mike Petke didn’t not point fingers at the defender who a few weeks ago helped the club win the MLS Shield Cup.

“It was individual mistakes, and they happen,” Petke said.

The Dynamo will host Sporting Kansas City in the first leg of the Conference Finals, Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium.
