Cranes Head Coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sedrojevic has announced a 27 pool of players for the Saturday friendly game against Rwanda’a Amavubi Stars .

Announcing the squad on behalf of the head coach at the weekly FUFA Press Conference, the Federation’s head of technical issues, Mujib Kasule said all the named players will have a chance to play in this international friendly.

Majority of the players named have been training with the team on the weekend days, designated for special team building and binding .

The sqaud includes 4 goal keepers, 10 defenders, 6 central midfielders and 7 attack minded forwards. ” The sqaud released all stand a chance to feature for the Cranes in the forthcoming CECAFA. It will be up to the technical team to pick the most fitting”, Mujib said.

Notable inclusions on the team is Ashadu Bugembe, a goal keeper who has been on form with Kira Young and the trio of Sports Club Victoria University’s Yassar Mugerwa, Dan Nsubuga and Muwajje Muwadda.

4 players according to Mujubi have been omitted for different reasons. Dennis Iguma and Francis Olaki have been injured for the past weeks) while Yunus Sentamu and Sports Club Victoria University striker, Simon Okwi are left out for school examinations and sickness concerns.

Earlier this week, Rwanda named their own squad of 24 players who are set to arrive in Kampala on Friday ahead of the Saturday Friendly game. The Rwandan contingent will be accommodated at Mount Zion Hotel in the heart of Kampala City.

Amavubi head coach, Eric Nshimyimana summoned 26 players who include two professionals ,defender Salomon Nirisarike, alongside skipper Haruna Niyonzima and a crop of home based players that have among others 3 players who were born and raised in Uganda – Meddie Kagere, Charles Tibigana and Andrew Butera.
