An Instant Ug. Shs 100,000 cash prize and a crate of beer awaits every winner of the newly invented Friday Tennis Explosion, a fresh event on the sporting arena of Uganda.
“For every week in the entire year, the Friday Tennis Explosion will be taking place where all competitive tennis players will be engaged, two at time”, Arthur Segawa, the Manager, Lugogo Center Courts revealed on Thursday morning at the event launch held at the tennis premises in Kampala.
For a start, it will be an event for only men with proposals to involve the female gender in the subsequent years.
A lump sum of Ug. Shs 15M is earmarked for this entire budding project meant to boost the competitiveness of tennis among the players.
The money will facilitate the winners’ prizes (cash of 100,000/= every week and a beer crate), refreshments for players, first aid kit, Equipment (balls and nets), Umpires, Ball boys and other officials.
“There will be ultimate entertainment with lots of drinks and eats, so the center court will be the place to be every Friday”, Segawa said.
The elite and amateur players are all welcome to play in this event to ensure competition as it will be a winner takes it all event.
