Overview:
The FEASSSA Games this year will take place in Uganda, in Teso region, co-hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College.
Hockey remains one of the keenly awaited sports disciplines at the 2024 FEASSSA Games in Uganda.
For starters, the FEASSSA Games this year will take place in Uganda, in Teso region, co-hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College.
The draws for the games were held on Monday, 12th August 2024 at the GNS Plaza Hotel in Kampala.
There are fourteen schools that will take part in Hockey from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
Boys:
There are two pools for the boys’ gender with group A having Ntare School and Mbarara High School from Uganda.
There is one Kenyan school, Musingu Secondary School and Arusha Meru Secondary School from Tanzania.
Group B has two Kenyan schools; St Anthony Secondary School and St Charles Lwanga Secondary School with two Ugandan schools as well; Kakungulu Memorial High School and Kyadondo Secondary School.
Round robin for girls:
There are seven schools for the girls and will play in a round robin format.
Uganda has four schools under the girls’ section; Sacred Heart Secondary School, Kakungulu Memorial High School, St Mary’s College Namagunga and Bweranyangi Girls School.
The three Kenyan schools are; Nyamila Girls Secondary School, Tigoi Girls School and St Joseph Girls Kitale.
Hockey apart, the games on the menu also include; Volleyball, Badminton, football, basketball (3X3 and normal basketball), netball, Rugby (7’s and 15’s), handball, athletics, swimming, tennis and table tennis.
The games will run from 17th until 24th August 2024.
