Avengers are the 2024 Mbale 7s champions. They beat Black Pearls in the women’s Cup Final by 14-07 points.

Juliet Nandawula and Maimuna Nassozi scored Avengers’ tries in both halves.

While they scored more than Black Pearls, Avengers’ strategy without the ball was the masterstroke.

A quick press by the outside defenders kept the ball from reaching the wings ensured that their opponents had to breach through the middle. Then the defenders on the inside channels did the dirty work in contact.

The door was literally shut on Black Pearls who are usually free scoring. Their only successful breach was a classic Grace Auma try under the poles.

Black Pearls and Avengers are now tied with forty-one points on the overall standings table. But Black Pearls lead by virtue of a superior points difference.
