As the long term modus operandi, pools for the Kyadondo 7s circuit were drawn before the Mbale 7s Cup finals kicked off.
But coincidentally, despite having a new top seed in the women’s competition, the pools were identical for the third successive time.
Women’s Pools for Kyadondo 7s (invitational team*):
- Pool A: Avengers, Thunderbirds, Kitgum Queens, Panthers*.
- Pool B: Black Pearls, Nile Rapids, She Wolves, Ewes*.
Avengers will face Thunderbirds and Kitgum Queens in Pool A while Black Pearls have Nile Rapids and She Wolves in Pool B.
In the men’s competition, Warriors’ unbelievable effort to finish sixth in Mbale 7s was rewarded with a favourable pool for Kyadondo. They are with Pirates, Impis, and Kisubi Pacers in Pool A.
Men’s Pools for Kyadondo 7s (invitational team*):
- Pool A: Pirates, Warriors, Impis, Kisubi Pacers*.
- Pool B: Heathens, Rhinos, Elgon Wolves, Jaguars*.
- Pool C: Hippos, Buffaloes, Walukuba, Eagles*.
- Pool D: KOBs, Rams, Mongers, Kyambogo*.
All three core teams in Pool C have reached the semifinal at least once in the series thus far. This is where it will simmer nicely.
Thunderbirds Rugby Club will host the Kyadondo 7s circuit at Kyadondo Rugby Club from August 24-25. Then the series will take a break for just one week.
