2013 Christmas Pool Open

At Capital Pub, Kabalagala

All roads will lead to Kabalagala – Kampala City’s hottest Suburb, dubbed the ‘sin city’ this Saturday and Sunday as the annual Pool Association of Uganda season pool ending event, the Christmas Pool Tournament takes center stage at Capital Pub.

Close to 200 male and female pool players across the country will participate in the event whose registration goes for a bare minimum of Ug Shs. 10,000 for singles and Ug.shs 20.000 for the doubles’ categories.

Glittering trophies are lined up for the best top performers in either genders with cash prizes worth 5 million in the singles and doubles categories.

“The best male single will smile home with one million shillings cash”, the PAU publicist, Michael Mawanda assures Kawowo Sports.

Other prizes include, 500,000 and 250,000 for the second and third best males respectively while the ladies cash prizes will vary from 500,000, 250,000 and 150,000 for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed female best performing personalities respectively.

In the doubles, the best placed male pair will go home with 500,000 and 250,000 for the second pair while the first placed pair in the ladies’ category will pocket 250,000 and 125,000 for the runners’ up pair.

Amos Ndyagumanawe is the defending champion in the men’s category having beaten Alfred Gumikiriza 5-2 in the finals of the thrilling 2012 event while Vivian Kagoye won the ladies’ championships after edging Vicky Namuyanja 4-2 in the best of 7 series.

At the same event, the respective league national pool clubs will be crowned and awarded their trophies (by 9:30 am).
