All is set as Uganda’s kick boxer Ronald Mugula is set to play his Egyptian opponent, Abdallah Hessen on the opening day of the virgin year 2014. The fight world kick boxing title defence bout in the welter weight catergory will take place at Freedom City, along Entebbe road.
Despite the absence of his trainer, Thilo Schneider, Mugula is still confident he can make it. “With or without my trainer from Germany, I am proud that my fitness has improved a lot and i am ready not to disappoint my fans world over” Mugula said.
Hessen, 18, who arrived in the country on Sunday, is also ready to cause an upset. “I am ready to put up a spirited display come what may”, the Egyptian told Kawowo Sports upon arrival.
Wheras Mugula, 26, is contented that as a champion, he still has to perfect the basics right and record yet another home victory. “I have a record to maintain (not losing any fight at home). Hessen will find hard time breaking that record,” says Mugula. Abdallah.
This will be Mugula’s third fight in Uganda after a long spell of professional kick-boxing in Germany.After this fight, he will take on Moses Golola, in a fight many kick boxing fans are eagerly awaiting later in 2014.
The fight will be supervised by Roseman Istvan.
