Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Thika United has landed Uganda Cranes goalie Hamza Muwonge.
According to Futaa.com, the former Vipers SC custodian has inked a two year deal.
“We have signed Muwonge and this brings to end our quest for an additional goalkeeper,” the club’s head Coach John Kamau told Futaa.com.
Muwonge is an experienced goal keeper who has won a league title with Vipers SC (then Bunamwaya SC) plus three CECAFA Challenge titles with Uganda Cranes in 2008, 2009 and 2012.
He was voted the best goalie at the 2012 Challenge Cup after conceding just a single goal in the entire tournament.
Muwonge’s previous clubs include Kampala United, Ggaba United and Bunamwaya SC.
Thika United finished seventh in last season’s league championship on 42 points eighteen points behind eventual winners Gor Mahia FC.
