Tanzania’s Iddy Madina Hussein, will not be defending her crown at the fourth Castle Lite Entebbe Ladies Open that tees off from March 7-8 at the par 71 Entebbe Club.

“I won’t be coming to defend my title at the Entebbe Ladies Open and I am sad about it,” Madina said. “I would have loved to come and play, but my commitments at work have really tied me down.”

The Arusha Gymkhana golfer, made her debut at this prestigious Open last year and won it on her first attempt beating her two close friends Irene Nakalembe and Flavia Namakula.

The Entebbe Ladies Open is one of the major tournaments on the Entebbe Club, calendar and usually attracts Lady amateur golfers from every part of the country with foreign entries from Tanzania, Rwanda and a few from Kenya.

The tournament is held over two days with the second day being for players playing in the subsidiary that is ladies and men. The past winners of this event include Jasper Kamukama, who won the inaugural event in 2011 and in 2012 it was Flavia Namakula.
