For the second successive year, Uganda have won the women’s Rugby Africa 7s bronze medal.

They faced and beat Madagascar by 17-05 points in the tensely-contested match. Grace Nabaggala and Grace Auma scored Uganda’s tries in the first half, split by Madagascar’s solitary try.

After the break, Auma put some daylight between the Lady Rugby Cranes and the Lady Makis with the only points of the half. Both teams also got yellow cards as they battled intensely for the bronze medal.

Eventually, Uganda saw off a resilient Madagascar to achieve their objective of finishing within the medal bracket.
