Nemostars find themselves in one of the tightest  situations since the 2014 season started, losing three title two of those bowing out of tournaments at the semi final stage. But the team has sided to stay positive especially with the Confederation of African Volleyball club Championships around the corner and many more title to defend.

“We are not performing poor if you asked me,” Nemostars captain told The Nemogram. “We have new players, and our training program has changed since we are working on a different game approach.” “Yeah it is taking for ever but once we get everything right, we will definitely be back to the top,” Aporu added.

This was after Nemostars lost 3-2 to Nkumba Navy at the semi final stage of the Ndejje Open last weekend, the side had lost to at the same stage in the Makerere Open Championship. Before Nemostars travel to Tunisia they will have one more chance to win silverware at the Jinja Open Championship from March 15-16.

Old Coach impressed with women

After women’s coach Ardone Kankungulu three in the towel to coach the Nemostars’ ladies, Neko Muduse-Ojala aka Old Coach has since resumed his coaching duties.  And his first tournament of the year was at the Ndejje Open Championship; maybe the girls didn’t leave the group stages but the three games played against Espoir (1-3) Ndejje (0-3) and KAVC (0-3)

“Losing is not the issue here, but you could see that they are playing as a team, and if we continue like that trust me we will get better,” Old Coach said. The team was fighting on court not to give away points easily; Christine Atim, Edwina Ahamize, Hafina Nantale and Dorcus Nyandiro all gave their all on net defense and cover.

Setter Esther Mutisinzi and Allen Wandyete also showed signs of great improvement, and it is just a matter of time that they get better. Ndejje Open was the ladies third tournament of the year after Makerere Open and The Nemo Duu, they missed the Joan Cox Memorial
