The groups are done! The Legends and Team Kasewu are out. It is now knock-out at Season four of the Friday Night Lights as the quarter finals of the fun basketball event get on tonight at YMCA.
Team Sudi will for a second Friday running take the court first this time against Team Duxx that pinned the first loss to Team Amoding in a battle of debutants. Team Sudi is the only unbeaten side this season but Sudi, Kami, Luke and others will have to score more than their season average 53.5 points to beat a competitive and hustling Team Duxx that is averaging FNL high 56 points.
Winners of season one and two, Team Ikong will be up against Team Koma in the second quarter final. You may well call it the 3-pointer game as two of the country’s best shooters from down town will be going against each other.
Team Ikong dropped a single game in the groups averaging over 52 points while Team Koma lost twice averaging 46.7 points.
Team Amoding that dropped the last group game to Team Duxx will be against Team Enabu that won just one game in the groups – against the Legends.
Team Amoding looked untouchable but after the loss the last time out, they seem a side that can be beaten but we look forward to few dunks from Desmond Owili and Arou Ramadhan and big 3s from Amoding which may lift the team. The Enabu brothers will also try to make a push for a semi final appearance.
The last game of the night will be defending champions Team Malinga against Team Blick which will also be live on Urban TV. Team Blick dropped their season opening game after forcing overtime but have not lost since then winning all their last three games in the group.
Team Malinga meanwhile has blown hot and cold. They lost the season opening game, won two in a row and then lost the last group game to Team Ikong and are also averaging FNL season low 38 points per game. While match up seems even, the game may swing towards Team Blick that seems to be getting better after every game.
