Ibra Ssekajja’s Crystal Palace FC suffered their eighteenth loss in English Premier League to Newcastle United at St. James Park over the weekend.
Newcastle fans who looked destined for a goalless draw or worse against impressively bloody-minded Palace were sent into jubilation by Papis Cisse’s last-gasp strike in the final minute of injury time.
The late strike saw Ssekajja’s Palace cruelly see a potentially precious point slip from their grasp against the hosts.
In his team that travelled to St James Park, Coach Tony Pulis selected strikers, Cameron Jerome, Jason Puncheon and Yannick Balasie ahead of Ugandan born forward Ibra Sekajja. The 21 year old who made his debut at Palace in 2010 is yet to feature in Tony Pulis team this season.
The loss exacerbated Palace’s relegation worries as they lie 17th on the log on 26 points, just 4 points above bottomed Fulham. Newcastle lie in 8th place while coach Mourinho’s Chelsea leads with 69 points after 31 games.
