5th Ndejje Woodball Open

Mallets have been sharpened ahead of 5th Ndejje Woodball meet slated for this coming Saturday at Ndejje University main campus in Luweero District. Several elite players, clubs, educational institutions (secondary and primary schools and universities) are all set ahead of the championships
Club Ndejje University, MUBS and Ndejje Woodball Club will be some of the teams to watch at the 5th Ndejje Woodball Open Championship.
With lots of prizes at stake, the competition has attracted 30 teams from primary and secondary schools, universities, and clubs.
Hosts Ndejje University spurred by national stars, Zawedde Lilian and Atamba Onesmus could be a formidable force going by the three recent performances in the beach Circuits and Kyambogo Open this year.
USPA woodball player of the year, Zawedde is hopeful to reproduce her winning performance during the 5th Kyambogo Open Woodball Championship and Atamba seeks to completely overhaul his performance after finishing 26th at Kyambogo with 69 strokes, 22 behind the winner Bruno Bbosa (Ndejje University).
Entebbe Woodball Club, Botladz Woodball Club, Nkumba University, Multitech Business School, Busitema University, Muteesa Royal University, UCU and Bishop Stuart University are some of the teams upbeat and ready for the weekend showdown in the open category.
The primary schools category is popularly known for producing fireworks with contests between Motherwell Junior School – Mutungo, Nalinnya Lwantale Girls’ Primary School, Greenacres Junior Academy and Happy Hours Primary School – Bombo respectively.
The other primary schools that have confirmed participation include Nkokonjeru Primary School, Bombo Barracks Primary School, Bombo Umea Primary School, Namaliga Primary School, Nyimbwa C/U and St. Francis Junior School – Buddo among others.
The secondary schools category comprises King’s College Budo, Ndejje Day Vocational S.S and Kyambogo College School among others.
6th World Cup Woodball Championship
Individual performance of competitors will be used in selecting members of Team Uganda to compete at the World Cup slated for September 5 – 11, 2014 in Sanya, Peoples’ Republic of China.
The Uganda Wooball Federation (UWbF) will require USD 39,600 to send 16 competitors.
