Ndejje Elites leave for Carthage Tunisia on Wednesday to take part in their second straight Africa Volleyball Club Championship. The club’s coach Johnson Kawenyera told Daily Monitor,  a local newspaper that he will travel with a much stronger side than the one that played at their maiden appearance in Antananarivo Madagascar last year.

“Last year we used the East African Games as our yardstick, which didn’t really give us a better a picture,” Kawenyera told monitor.co.ug. “But now I have players who have seen it all. These girls have played on the big stage throughout 2013 and the early part of 2014,” he added.

Kawenyera boasts of the four players the two-time league winners had on the national team that nearly qualified for the World Championship.  Christine Alupo, Saidat Nnungi, Maureen Mwamula and Jesca Kaidu though the latter didn’t leave long on the national team.

“Those four will be the back born of my team, the rest will ride on them,” said Kawenyera.  From the team that was in Antananarivo Ndejje lost Peace Busingye, Miriam Namiiro and Shamim Makongoro to Vision Volleyball Camp.

Then they were also boosted Prossy Alobo and Carol Nakawesi then of KCCA and KAVC respectively. “Technically this team is far much better and I have a lot of confidence in them,” added Kawenyera.
