Coach Sam Ahamya’s Fimbo franchise earned the reputation and 2 million Uganda shillings prize for the 3rd placed team in the Protector Rugby Super Series, thanks to their 23:14 victory against Magicians on Friday.

Fimbo, who made a horrible debut in their first two games losing both, proved one of the biggest prospects winning their first match, when it mattered most.

As earlier predicted, Fimbo’s Byron Atubikire and Brian Jjemba decided their colleagues’ fate, all putting up outstanding performances for the team.

A few minutes after kick off, Brian Jjemba and Edmond Tumusiime had Fimbo step ahead, following a try and penalty they notched to a 00:11 lead.

However, Magicians’ Stone Lugya scored the second try of the game, man of the match Stallion Arinaitwe converting before halftime.

Magicians thereafter doubled their score to lead 14:11 in the second half, Stallion Arinaitwe kicking through the uprights after Oscar Onda crossed the try line.

Fimbo who were now trailing behind immediately made a sensational comeback, Byron Atukubire and Herman Ssekamwa scoring a couple of tries and an Owen Kinyera conversion that finished off the crucial encounter, Fimbo 23:14 Magicians.

Coach Brian Tindimweba’s Magicians who achieved only one victory against Fimbo in the group games concluded fourth, earning 1 million Uganda Shillings prize money.
