The Lumala @60 Mama @90 birthday rally was all that everyone expected; my an exciting start to a new season.

The event was flagged off at Lake View Hotel by the title sponsor Moses Lumala and Mbarara member of Parliament Mwesigwa Rukari along with other dignitaries on Friday.

Crews headed straight into the 14.32-kilometer stage.

It was Yasin Nasser on his return to the NRC since 2023 who drew first blood sweeping the stage with the fastest time of 7 minutes and 27 seconds.

Nasser and Ronald Sebuguzi later put up a show for the fans as they went head to head in the Super Special Stage in two runs. The Moil crew would still maintain the lead.

“The feeling is good for us. We have missed racing Nemo here and we are equally excited to be here just like the fans.”

“We shall keep the momentum for tomorrow. Hopefully, all will work for us,” said Yasin.
