Day two of the Mbarara rally resumed on Saturday with two stages that saw changes on the rally leaderboard.
Day one leader Yasin Nasser continued from where he stopped on Friday sweeping the morning stage with an impressive pace.
However, his performance was shortlived after he suffered power steering issues in the second stage of the day losing more than a minute.
The Moil rally team would be demoted to sixth position after the incident.
“The stage was a tag of war with the steering. I almost gave up. It’s hard to drive that car with that issue.”
“Luckily, I made it to the service and lets see what we can do after,” said Yasin.
That handed Ponsiano Lwakataka the rally lead.
He assumed a 48 seconds lead over second placed Ronald Sebuguzi.
The crews will continue with three stages of the afternoon loop including the power stage to seal the day.
