Former National Rally champion (NRC) Ronald Ssebuguzi extend his lead at the top of the NRC log after clinching victory in the MPU Masaka Rally, the third event of the 2014 calendar.
Sebuguzi beat rivals Duncan “Kikankane” Mubiru and Jonas Kansiime after completing the 290km event in two hours, twenty four minutes and twenty six seconds.
Mubiru winner of the season’s first event in Mbarara came second after posting 2:29:40.
Kansiime followed closely in third place after clocking 2:43:45while Peter Kakaire, Fred Wampamba and Geoffrey Nsamba completed the top six in that order.
With five rounds yet to be done, Sebuguzi leads the standings with 250 points having attained his first victory of the campaign followed by Kansiime (200 points) and Mubiru (175pts).
Next on the NRC calendar is the Southern Motor Challenge Rally more likely to be staged in areas of Mukono or Luweero.
