The Cherish football playground in Garuga was the place to be on Sunday, 26th January 2025.

As hundreds of Ugandans celebrated the Liberation Day, staff and customers at the number one entertainment spot Login Lounge Garuga locked horns in a friendly duel under intense sunny weather conditions.

The match provided that unique inter-face between the clients and staff to easily mingle, reflecting upon the opportunities, projections, demands via-a-vis challenges of the year’s opening month; January; hitherto tagged as “Jan-Worry” by many.

Denis Akabwayi, the shrewd proprietor of Login Lounge Garuga captained the staff team that easily won the contest 3-1 much to the delight of the ecstatic gallery.

The final score-line will not easily depict the thrills from this contest on the grass proper, but rather manifest the competitive, unity and brotherhood spirit upon which this match was played along.

For every touch on the ball, sublime ball control, explicit pass, tackle, dribble, shot, header and eventually each goal, the charged up fans on the side-lines celebrated wildly.

Bouquets of laughter were served in abundance to the cheering fans for any successful dribble, nut-meg and any player who respected the law of gravitational flow to the grass.

Customer Ivan Walunyolo, a famed NTV correspondent in the Entebbe area swiftly bended the football substitution laws to those of basketball when he rested for a couple of minutes outside after a knock before returning to gallantly solider on.

Walunyolo led the cast of other Entebbe based journalists as Julius Luwemba, Godfrey Ssempijja, George William Kakooza, David Isabirye, Lawrence Mushabe, Mawejje and others.

“It was a good match that not only tested our endurance levels but also the sense of judgement. We shed off some calories for the right cause. I am looking forward many of these matches” a sweaty Walunyolo remarked.

The contest was planned with both teams donning full well branded Login Lounge Garuga kits.

It was one unique evening of networking, sweating for a noble cause, smiling, dining and wining together after the match.

During the aftermath after-party, drinks and eatables of all stature were served in abundance at the Login Lounge Garuga as the screens cast the Leicester City against Tottenham Hot Spurs match in the English premiership.

As they watched the premiership match, customers and staff reflected upon the match at Cherish playground with many vowing for a rematch after improvement on the fitness levels.

Who cannot wait for that rematch?
