Ahead of the highly anticipated second round 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifying tie against Equatorial Guinea, Cranes coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is set to trim The Cranes squad from the original one he summoned for Madagascar Kawowo Sports has learnt.

The ex-Rwanda tactician summoned 35 players for the Barea clashes but intends to reduce the squad to at least 25 when the team resumes training before hosting Equatorial Guinea on July 19 at Namboole.

“Some players will be dropped due to underperformance whilst the others showed no commitment and thus disappointed the technical team,” a source who preferred anonymity told Kawowo Sports without mentioning any names.

It should be noted that on top of the 35 players the Serb officially called for Barea duty, he added a few other players dubbed ‘guest players’ a thing not welcomed by most Ugandan football fanatics.

Cranes need to beat Equatorial Guinea on aggregate over two legs to join group E which has Ghana, Togo and Guinea.

The top two from the group automatically qualify for the finals to be held in Morocco early next year.
