HOT Shot Ugandan lightweight Sharif “The Lion” Bogere (24-1, 16 KOs) makes his second return to the ring on June 21 when he takes on tough Mexican opponent Hector Velasque(56-21-3,38 KOs) at the StubHub Center, Carson, California, USA in a scheduled eight-rounder.

The fight will be Bogere’s second since losing a decision to Cuban Richard Abril in a March 2013 world title bout. Bogere was sidelined for 13 months after the loss due to an Achilles tendon injury.

The Las Vegas based fighter is building his momentum in the year as he seeks to break back into the ranks in his weight division as he eyes a world title fight later in the year or early next year.

“I am in great shape and looking forward to this fight,” Bogere stated. “I have been working very hard in the gym and it’s great to be back in the mix.”

Bogere is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions that is owned by boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya.
