Thursday, April 3, 2025 (Group A)
- Uganda vs Tanzania – 8 pm
- Zambia vs Morocco – 11 pm
Following a humbling defeat to hosts Morocco, Uganda Cubs return to action on Thursday with a mouth-watering clash against regional rivals Tanzania in the Afcon U-17.
The highly billed clash is a must-win for the Uganda U17 side and Brian Ssenyondo believes they can build on the second half performance against Morocco to down Tanzania.
The Young Taifa Stars were also annihilated 4-1 by Zambia in their opening match and coach Aggrey Moris has called on his boys to show character against Uganda.
The two sides faced off in the final during the qualifying campaign in Kampala with Uganda edging the contest late on having drawn in the group stages.
With qualification to the World Cup the target, victory will put either side within touching distance of a historic feat.
In the same Group A, Zambia and hosts Morocco eye a quarterfinal spot in what will be the late kick-off of the day.
Elsewhere, Cameroon take on South Africa while Egypt battles Burkina Faso in group B.
